At BakerHostetler, our well-rounded summer program offers students with the training, experience, and confidence necessary to begin the journey to become great lawyers who will enjoy their colleagues and their work.

The San Francisco summer associate program is 10 weeks long, typically starting in May and concluding by the end of July. During this time, students will participate in firmwide and local trainings where they will learn important skills essential to be a successful attorney.&nbsp;

We strive to provide a balance of interesting and challenging work coupled with fun and exciting social events. Our summer class is comprised of predominantly second-year law students who are at the top of their classes.

We have an extensive summer associate writing program, where summer associates will complete at least one 8-10 page memoranda that will be used and considered in actual cases. Each summer associate receives detailed feedback on their writing throughout the program. Recent training sessions have included:

Mentoring

We assign a partner to supervise the summer associates and help them manage their workloads. Each summer associate is also paired with a mentor lawyer. Mentors assist their mentees in acclimating to the firm and answer questions regarding assignments, the summer program or any other questions that may arise during the summer. &nbsp;
