A fast learner with sharp attention to detail, Erin Sales efficiently manages large caseloads and discovery initiatives. Erin represents clients of all sizes in state and federal court on employment, civil rights and contractual issues, including matters that arise under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title II of the Civil Rights Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and comparable state statutes. She also represents clients in administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and equivalent state administrative agencies. In addition, Erin represents clients in non-compete and non-solicitation disputes and understands the urgency frequently involved in these types of matters. She also serves as outside employment counsel to clients on day-to-day matters, such as wage and hour questions, layoffs, discrimination and harassment complaints and investigations, training and new legislation.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Erin worked in the NCAA Division I Compliance realm, guiding coaches, administrators and student-athletes with respect to NCAA rules. She intertwines that experience and knowledge with her current employment law practice to successfully handle internal investigations for sports clients.
Erin’s previous clerkship in federal district court allowed her to obtain valuable experience and insight on judicial processes, legal research and writing, and courtroom procedures. Additionally, her experience as an Assistant U.S. Attorney provides her with a unique understanding of the correlation between civil and criminal law. Having professional experience working with high-profile individuals in collegiate athletics, Erin is also comfortable handling matters in the public eye.
