Chesapeake Utilities Corporation, a diversified energy delivery company that provides natural gas, electricity, propane and mobile compressed gas products and services has announced that it is acquiring Florida City Gas (FCG). FCG serves eight counties in southeastern Florida, with 120,000 commercial and residential natural gas customers.

This is a “transformative acquisition,” which will more than double Chesapeake’s natural gas business in Florida, according to the company. As a result, Chesapeake has “increased its capital investment plan and extended its earnings guidance through 2028 to reflect the increased scale and investment opportunities related to the transaction.”
