Sean Flanagan focuses his practice on commercial litigation and bankruptcy litigation and is a member of the BakerHostetler team serving as court-appointed counsel to the Securities Investor Protection Act (SIPA) Trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC.

Sean has more than 20 years of experience in complex commercial litigation matters, including corporate governance, securities, shareholder litigation, securities regulation, internal investigations, breach of contract, fraud, misrepresentation, theft of trade secrets, bankruptcy and employment matters. He is equally adept at the avoidance or initiation of litigation, developing litigation strategies to best achieve the client’s business goals and reaching a settlement of business disputes.

Sean has counseled and represented clients in the real estate, construction and financial industries through all facets of internal investigations and government investigations, pre-litigation matters and litigation from discovery up to trial. He has handled matters in federal and state courts throughout the country and through mediation and arbitration proceedings before the Financial Industry Regulation Authority, International Chamber of Commerce and American Arbitration Association.

He is skilled at spotting and developing strategies to avoid litigation risks for public and privately held companies alike, including Fortune 500 institutions, while driving business-oriented solutions to complex legal matters.
