Josiah Bancroft has worked with some of the largest international hospitality and retail groups in the world, leading all aspects of their corporate expansion matters and planning strategies that involve structuring and negotiating a wide range of acquisition, development, financing and leasing transactions.
From handling U.S. headquarters and distribution centers for one of the world's largest retailers to navigating state and local government incentives, Josiah provides practical guidance based on his significant experience and taking into account the client's business goals.
Josiah works extensively with developers and retailers as they expand throughout the U.S. in the development, leasing and disposition of shopping centers, multi-use development projects and outparcels; works with private equity clients in the acquisition of portfolio companies (national restaurant chains and franchisees); and works with multifamily developers in acquisition and development matters.
Josiah's experience includes the representation of borrowers in all manner of financing transactions, including complex commercial mortgage loans, construction loans, lines of credit, sale-leaseback transactions, joint ventures and loan defeasances. Additionally, he has represented multiple banking institutions in the management of their REO properties, including bulk sales, auction sales, foreclosures, donations to land banks and creation of internal processes and "best practices."
