Jeremy Chai is an associate in the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Group and focuses his practice on technology and IP transactions. Drawing upon his engineering background, Jeremy drafts technology and IP-focused commercial agreements for both established and start-up companies.
Jeremy has experience drafting various commercial transactions agreements, including software and IP licenses, cloud services and professional services agreements. He regularly provides IP support on both buy and sell-side M&A transactions, and analyzes data processing agreements for compliance with state privacy laws and regulations.
Jeremy has also successfully litigated cases for clients ranging from start-ups to leading technology and life science companies in complex patent infringement and contract dispute matters in U.S. district court and before an arbitral tribunal.
Prior to joining BakerHostetler, Jeremy was an associate in the patent litigation practice of a nationally recognized law firm. During law school, he served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Jesus G. Bernal of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
