Jason Orr is a member of BakerHostetler’s Privacy and Digital Risk Class Action and Litigation (PDRCAL) group. He leverages his experience as both outside and in-house counsel to advise clients on complex legal challenges involving cutting-edge technology, including data breaches and ransomware attacks, artificial intelligence (AI) and automation/robotics. Jason is a versatile litigator who brings practical, business-minded advice to all representations, and he has extensive experience navigating complex matters in federal and state courts, including multidistrict, class action and mass tort proceedings.

Jason has a decade of experience advising early- to late-stage companies in the automotive and mobility industries on liability, privacy and regulatory issues related to connected and automated vehicle technologies, including the commercialization and deployment of innovative mobility technologies. He has also interfaced with regulators on behalf of established technology leaders and emerging companies, including with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Prior to joining BakerHostetler, Jason served as Head of Litigation and Regulatory for Bird, the largest micromobility operator in North America by market share. There, he advised the company on data sharing and protection, commercial contracts and other issues; represented the company in enforcement proceedings; and managed more than 200 product liability, class-action, employment, commercial and securities cases.
