Daniel Bucca applies his multi-disciplinary understanding of technology to a practice that includes securing, enforcing and licensing patent rights and strategic, worldwide patent portfolio creation and management, particularly in the areas of life science, chemical and material science technologies and clean technologies. His experience encompasses a range of technologies, including pharmaceuticals, medicinal and nutritional formulations, food sciences, battery and fuel cell technology, hydrogen generation, oil and gas, mining, environmental remediation technologies, carbon capture and sequestration.
Dan creates and manages global patent portfolios, conducts IP transactions, freedom-to-operate, patentability, validity and non-infringement opinions, and has extensive experience with global litigation, appeals and proceedings in both U.S. and foreign patent offices that include post grant reviews, reexaminations, reissues, interferences, oppositions and nullity actions.
Prior to practicing patent law, Dan was a researcher in government laboratories and in private industries.
