With a solution-oriented and consumer-centric approach, Allyson Himelfarb is skilled at counseling clients on a range of marketing activities, helping them to strategically navigate privacy matters, and assisting with their most challenging issues in emerging areas such as consumer health data and the use of data for analytics and marketing purposes. Allyson’s experience includes advising clients on COPPA, CAN-SPAM and GLBA, as well as texting and business-to-business campaigns. She also has deep experience in complex, often multijurisdictional consumer litigation, including defending class actions arising from data breaches and claims involving deceptive or unfair practices.
Allyson previously served as senior associate general counsel for a global health services company, where she focused on privacy counseling and other product development work. She leverages this valuable in-house experience to fully understand the practical realities faced by clients.
In addition, Allyson gained a unique skill set from nearly a decade as an investigator with the Federal Trade Commission’s Division of Marketing Practices within the Bureau of Consumer Protection. This experience informs her ability to assist clients in regulatory inquiries and enforcement actions.
