Adela Ray focuses her practice on graphical user interfaces, helping clients protect their IP assets and inventions with regard to the visual and interactive elements of a software application. She is proficient across numerous high-tech sectors, including AI/ML, and has well more than a decade of patent prosecution and invalidity analysis experience.
Adela previously spent 14 years with Lincoln IP, Inc., where she supported multinational technology, electronics and automotive corporations. Her work included conducting patentability analyses, freedom-to-operate studies, invalidity assessments and infringement analyses. Adela focused on identifying technological gaps recognized by engineering teams in multinational companies, working closely with external counsel. She also provided in-depth reports and clear communications, effectively bridging the gap between innovation identification and patent filing.
Throughout her career, Adela has provided more than 300 invalidity analyses to Am Law 100 firms, significantly contributing to the filing of IPR petitions. She has significant experience across a broad range of fields, such as virtual reality, augmented reality, AI/ML, computer vision, NLP, image processing, cloud computing, smart homes, edge servers, IoT, SOC, FPGA and others. Adela also has extensive experience working with wireless and telecommunications standards, such as 6G, 5G, 3GPP, 3GPP2, 802.11, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, among others. Additionally, she is well-versed in semiconductor standards like JEDEC, as well as audio and video coding standards, including H.264, H.261, HEVC, MPEG and VP9, to name a few.
