Partner Ron Gaither is quoted in an Oct. 17 ALM Daily Report article titled "Georgia Sports Lawyers Anticipate Boost in Practices From New NIL Rules.”
While Georgia’s sports lawyers’ services may be more in demand as athletes and their families seek guidance following new high school name, image and likeness (NIL) rules in the state, Partner Ron Gaither wonders how much the new rules will affect practices like his own, which focus on representing clients who wish to hire athletes for their NIL, not themselves.
Still, the new rules “will probably move the needle a little bit,” he says, particularly given that “there are always questions as relates to making sure that we don’t violate the student’s eligibility.”
