Counsel Ben Wanger took part in a recent pop-up discussion for the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) titled “MOVEit Data Breach & NSC Notification.”
The Aug. 18 conversation centered on a cyberattack that took place in late May and affected hundreds of organizations and institutions of higher education across the U.S. In the attack, cybercriminals exploited a security vulnerability in MOVEit software and gained unauthorized access to the personal information of students, employees and others.
MOVEit software is used by many colleges and universities, as well as their vendors, which include the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC).
