Partner Teresa Goody Guillén is quoted in the June 2, 2023, edition of the Financial Times Cryptofinance newsletter. The column is titled “Sam Bankman-Fried’s lawyers pin hopes on The Bahamas.”
In a court document recently filed by Sam Bankman-Fried’s lawyers, his team asked for some of the charges against him to be dismissed because they were not part of the original agreement to extradite him from The Bahamas, according to the article.
Goody Guillén says additional indictments are frequently filed after an extradition. “The defendant will object to the new crimes, claiming that the extraditing country did not consent to prosecuting or punishing him for the new crimes,” she told the Financial Times.
