Partner Alexander Reid is quoted in a Nov. 15 Chronicle of Philanthropy article titled “Proposed IRS Regulations of Donor-Advised Funds Fall Short, Critics Say.”
“The Treasury Department on Tuesday issued long-awaited proposed rules regulating donor-advised funds that sidestep many of the heated debates over the fast-growing form of charitable giving,” according to the article. “But the proposed IRS regulations would ban the use of the funds to support lobbying and campaign activity.”
If adopted, the regulations could be mean that fiscally sponsored organizations will be treated as donor-advised funds in some cases, Reid tells the Chronicle.
