Partner Alexander Reid is quoted in an Oct. 16 TaxNotes article titled “Final Regs Clarify Rules for Supporting Organizations” (subscription required).
“The IRS has issued final regulations that provide guidance on the prohibition of some gifts or contributions to Type I and Type III supporting organizations,” according to the article. But the new regulations are not breaking much new ground, Reid tells TaxNotes, “which is a good thing as the Pension Protection Act revisions were themselves onerous to supporting organizations.”
