A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit that sought to hold Uniswap liable for alleged scams carried out on its platform. This is a major boon to the company and other crypto exchanges that allow users to buy and sell crypto without an intermediary, according to a Sept. 8 Bloomberg Law article titled "Coinbase Judge Previews Crypto Thinking in Uniswap’s ‘Huge’ Win" (subscription required).
Quoted in the article, Partner Teresa Goody Guillén said holding crypto exchanges liable “for things that you cannot control and third-party bad actors” would have had a chilling effect, further stifling the crypto industry in the U.S.
