Partner Daniel Kaufman was extensively quoted in an article from Cybersecurity Law Report titled “FTC’s Rite Aid Order: A Strong Message to Users of Biometrics and AI.” Published Jan. 24, 2024, the article discusses a highly detailed order from the FTC that bars Rite Aid from using facial recognition technology in its stores or online for five years. Kaufman states that “we will see echoes of this case and its concepts embedded in a lot of cases over the next year or two.”
