Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chair Lina Khan came under heavy criticism from House Republicans during her July 13, 2023, appearance before the chamber’s Judiciary Committee.
According to a July 17 article in the National Law Journal, however, many lawyers interviewed by the publication said the FTC and Khan’s leadership should be examined with some nuance.
Quoted for the article, “Antitrust, Consumer Protection Lawyers Appraise Khan’s Testimony Before House Panel,” Partner Daniel Kaufman noted that the FTC enjoys broad bipartisan support for its efforts to tackle the issue of privacy in big tech, with particularly acute interest in federal privacy legislation.
