Bloomberg Law quotes Ortiz from remarks he made at a June 2023 conference in which he recounted a phone conversation he had with a federal prosecutor who was in San Juan, Puerto Rico. “He said, ‘Look, we’re here, we are looking to make cases,’” Ortiz told conference attendees, adding, “The message is the noose is tightening.”
