The firm and its professionals honored with Transformative Project of the Year Award and Best Member Article
NEW YORK — May 1, 2024 — An industry leader helping clients navigate the intersection of digital business, emerging technologies and the law, IncuBaker has once again been recognized with two International Legal Technology Association Distinguished Peer Awards.
As part of national law firm BakerHostetler’s Digital Assets and Data Management Practice Group, IncuBaker is a pioneer in shaping the ways in which businesses, clients and the legal industry adapt to emerging and transformative technologies.
Its prominence in the industry was highlighted during ILTA’s EVOLVE conference last night in Charlotte, North Carolina, where the group and its team members received the following awards:
- Transformative Project of the Year Award: IncuBaker for creation of Pixel Tracking Service
- Best Member Article Award: Priti Saraswat, manager of Legal Tech Consulting, for the article Navigating the Data Deluge: Privacy, AI Governance and the Future of Innovation
The ILTA’s Distinguished Peer Awards, launched in 2010, honor the achievements of those who leverage the strategic advantages of technology in the legal profession. Its Transformative Project of the Year Award is designed to recognize a collaborative initiative between a member entity and a business partner entity. The Best Member Article Award is given to the author of the best member-written article in an ILTA publication.
The DADM practice group and IncuBaker team are no strangers to recognitions. In addition to the ILTA awards, Financial Times recently recognized BakerHostetler as a top 25 innovative law firm at the end of 2023, and the DADM Practice Group was shortlisted for the fourth time by Chambers & Partners USA as a Privacy & Data Security Law Firm of the Year.
“IncuBaker, along with the larger Digital Assets and Data Management Group, is made up of the best and brightest in the emerging technology and legal sectors. Our team brings its industry-leading knowledge and thought leadership to clients daily, helping them with digital transformation, privacy management and complex data-driven initiatives,” said Ted Kobus, chair of BakerHostetler’s DADM Practice Group. “It is a testament to our strength to be recognized by peers in multiple categories and in successive years.”
IncuBaker also supports BakerHostetler attorneys in all facets of client work related to technology, including the firm’s key representation of health care clients in website tracking litigation across the U.S., corporate initiatives related to artificial intelligence technology, and assistance with analytics for the DADM Practice Group’s annual Data Security Incident Response Report, which was released in mid-April.
With nearly $5 million in direct consulting revenue since its launch, IncuBaker has a growing revenue stream. So far in 2024, IncuBaker boasted 79 clients and worked on more than 109 matters, which is a clear indication that clients are repeatedly seeking the services of its legal technologists.
“Just as rapidly as the world of technology has evolved, so has IncuBaker and the technological capability of BakerHostetler. In the past 10 years, IncuBaker has gone from a research and analysis tool used primarily behind the scenes, to a stand-alone service that provides clients with transformative solutions for adapting emerging technology to solve real-world problems,” said Katherine Lowry, BakerHostetler CIO and IncuBaker leader.
BakerHostetler’s DADM Practice Group — made up of more than 100 attorneys and technologists — unites key service offerings and technologies intersecting with the life cycle of data. A globally recognized leader, the group boasts a roster that includes attorneys who have practiced in this space for more than two decades, former federal prosecutors, veteran in-house counsel and past government agency leaders. With eight top-tier rankings by Chambers USAand Legal 500, the DADM Practice Group is considered a powerhouse for cybersecurity, privacy, advertising, data governance and emerging technology matters.
