Partner Andreas Kaltsounis commented on the dismissal of some of the charges brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission against SolarWinds in an Agenda article titled “No ‘Sighs of Relief’ for CISOs After SolarWinds Charges Tossed.” Published August 12, 2024, the article explains that, while a federal court dismissed a batch of charges against the company and its chief information security officer for their handling of a ransomware attack, they could still be held liable for misleading statements made before the attack. SolarWinds is a developer of software to help businesses manage their networks, systems and information technology infrastructure.
